"Linda Hammond of Designs Refined is an extremely knowledgeable designer who assisted me greatly in designing my newly bought home. I recently bought a newly built condo in downtown Los Angeles, California, and with Linda's help was able to decorate it according to my style and liking. Linda's greatest attribute is that she allowed my personality to come out and it showed in every facet of my home, from the hardwood flooring and wall coloring to the small end table in my living room. Not only was Linda able to help design my place to my liking, she educated me on everything that goes into the decor.

Linda came with me to visit a particular hardwood flooring retailer. It was here that she educated me on the different types and quality of engineering wood. Previously, I was only concern with the color of the wood. Not once did Linda exert her influence into telling me what I should purchase. Instead, with each type of hardwood I considered, she informed me the good and bad things associated with each wood and reputation of the company that manufactures them.

When it came to selecting the colors for my walls, it was here that Linda of Designs Refined allowed my personality to come out. She educated me on the different senses and perception that certain colors are associated with and from there I picked the colors that most make me "feel at home." In addition, she also helped in showing how different color complement each other even though at first glance when viewed separately, they might seem to conflict with one another.

In selecting furniture, Linda offered what I feel is one of the best advice. She mentioned that when I am looking and browsing through catalogs or at a furniture store and suddenly there is "that one piece of furniture that I cannot live without," I should buy that piece and not worry at that particular time about where it would go. This advice served me quite well as I purchased an end table from an antique shop. Of all the furniture that I have purchased, this is by far my favorite piece. At this time I still don't have a permanent place for this piece. Yet, the beauty of this is that the end table can go just about anywhere I would like it. This was exactly what Linda's point was. Without this advice, I would not have purchased this piece.

I think many designers help their clients design what they think their clients would like. With guidance and education Linda Hammond lets her clients design their own place they way they like it with the budget they have to work with. I am extremely happy with how my place turned out. It is still not complete and I look forward to more future education from Linda Hammond. "
